DETAILS: The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) along with Osceola County and the City of Kissimmee are set to construct the LYNX Multimodal Center Kissimmee.

Located next to the historic Kissimmee Amtrak station this eight bay transfer facility will serve as the new hub for all transit services in Osceola County. It will be vital as Phase 2 of SunRail begins service in 2016.

During peak service at least 17 LYNX buses will utilize the facility per hour. The multimodal center also will allow for on-street transfer opportunities, enough room for six 40 foot buses and two 60 foot articulated buses, and have the ability to install customer information kiosks.

Additional amenities will include closed caption television capabilities, solar lighting on 14 bus shelters and drought tolerant plants. The multimodal site has been designed to preserve two large oak trees and will be operational by early fall 2013.
