19th Public Service Bus Contest Winners Announced

Organizations that support the arts, culture and animals will be among the eight non-profit agencies featured on the LYNX 2022-23 Public Service Bus.

Orange County Mayor and LYNX Chair Jerry L. Demings and LYNX Interim Chief Executive Officer Tiffany Homler Hawkins will unveil the bus at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 31.  The event will be held in front of the LYNX Central Station downtown Orlando terminal located at 455. N. Garland Ave., 32801.

Each organization will receive free exposure by having their logos placed on a 40-foot LYNX bus traveling Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties for the next 12 months. Each winner was selected in a random drawing of qualified applicants with 501(c)(3) status and operate on budgets of less than $1.5 million annually.

LYNX 2022-23 Public Service Bus Contest Winners:

Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center provides free programs and services supporting local caregivers of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. They are based in Winter Park.

Bike/Walk Central Florida educates and advocates to make communities more walkable, bikeable and rollable.

Downtown Arts District provides support for artists, and executes creative art programs for the community. They also share and promote local art events and exhibitions throughout downtown Orlando. 

Franklin’s Friends supports Central Florida animal welfare by raising funding to provide grants to local nonprofit and government agencies dedicated to shelter/rescue, spay/neuter or community education programs.

The Jewish Pavilion in Seminole County serves residents in elder-care communities throughout Central Florida by providing holiday gift bags and celebrations, musicals, classes, memorial services, grief support and other opportunities to make all residents smile and bring them love and tradition.

JTB Hope Foundation, Inc. of Kissimmee provides everyday necessities and assistance for families in crisis through volunteering and generosity of donors. 

L.O.V.E. Our Youth, Inc. encourages youths to embrace their self-worth and value life’s lessons in order to maximize their full potential. They are based in Orange County.

Steps Foundation, Inc. of St. Cloud offers programs for students in 7-12 grade that focuses on career development, financial literacy, home living, health and wellness, peer support, self-care and confidence building.
