LYNX Prepares for Local Operator Roadeo
Pablo Perez, the defending international champion bus operator from the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) will begin his quest to retain the Roadeo title. The local competition will be held 10 a.m. Feb. 19 at the LYNX Operations Center (LOC).
The event is closed to the public.
Operators will be put through physical and mental challenges testing their everyday workplace skills. This will include identifying defects in a bus and then drive though a challenging obstacle course while being timed and judged in safety habits.
The winner will move on to the state event March 24 at the LOC.
In May, the state champion maintenance team and bus operator (Team Florida) will head to Long Beach, Calif., for the American Public Transportation Association’s International Bus Roadeo. This training exercise will be sponsored by the Florida Public Transportation Association.
