June 17 Osceola County Service Efficiencies

In the continued effort to combat the current service delay and bus overcrowding concern in Osceola County we will be making service enhancements effective June 17.

The routes being adjusted will be Links 26, 55 and 56. Additional buses or printed schedule times have been extended to better serve Osceola County customers.

Since the beginning of LYNX’ fiscal year on Oct. 1, 2011, ridership in Osceola County is up 14.4 percent. Throughout the entire system it is up eight percent.

“This is a win-win for commuters in Osceola County, who depend on LYNX service as the most cost-effective way to access employment, education and healthcare,” said Osceola County Commissioner Brandon Arrington, whose district includes Poinciana. Arrington is also vice chairman of the LYNX board of directors and Chairman of MetroPlan Orlando, the region’s transportation planning agency. “The county and LYNX listened to riders and responded in a way that will decrease the long waits that created a real hardship for those who rely on bus service as their primary mode of transportation.”

Effective June 17

ADJUSTED SERVICE:

• Link 26 – Pleasant Hill Road (Osceola County) – Frequency of service will be increased to every 30 minutes 6:15-9:45 a.m. and 3:20-7:20 p.m. All other trips will still operate every hour.
• Link 55 – West U.S. 192/Four Corners (Osceola County) – Additional running time will be added to every trip. Length of trips start to finish will now be scheduled at 60 minutes.
• Link 56 – West U.S. 192/Magic Kingdom (Osceola County) – Additional running time will be added to every trip. Length of trips start to finish will now be scheduled at 60 minutes.
