Susan Black Hired as LYNX General Manager

The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) has hired Susan Black as general manager (GM).

As GM, Black will lead the agency’s administrative division including engineering, human resources, information technology, marketing, planning and development, and safety/risk, departments. Her first day with LYNX was May 23.

A licensed attorney since 1996 and a resident of Central Florida since 1970, Black has brought more than 25 years of professional experience spanning such industries as engineering/architectural, legal, financial, and health and human services industries.

Prior to her appointment at LYNX, Black was the sole owner and CEO of 4elements, a professional advisory agency specializing in long-range strategic planning; a Senior Vice President for Wachovia Bank’s Personal Trust Company; and an attorney with practice area focus in estate planning and probate.  Black has also served as an adjunct professor for the University of Central Florida College of Health and Public Affairs.

Black is an active volunteer-leader and has served on several not-for-profit boards and committees through the years, and is currently in her second term on the Board of Directors for Harbor House of Central Florida.  She has also been a finalist in the Orlando Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Awards.

Raised in Sanford, Fla., Black graduated from Seminole High School, and went on to earn her bachelor's degree in communication from Florida State University, her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida and her Juris Doctor from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida.

Black will report directly to LYNX Chief Executive Officer John M. Lewis Jr.
