LYNX Wins State Maintenance and Operator Roadeo

Grand Champions Prepare for International Competition

It was a championship weekend in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) maintenance and operator team. The LYNX team won its seventh Grand Champion award at the State Roadeo.

Now Maintenance Team members Chris Balroop, Harry Mootoo and Radu Solomon, and Operator Moises Reina are preparing to win the American Public Transportation Association's International Bus Roadeo on May 4 in Kansas City, Mo.

Pablo Perez, a LYNX operator, won the international competition in 2011. A LYNX maintenance team has won the international competition in 2006 and 2010 (including Balroop and Mootoo).

Operators and Maintenance Teams were put through physical and mental challenges testing their everyday workplace skills. The training exercise sponsored by the Florida Department of Transportation and the Florida Public Transportation Association was held at Votran, Volusia County's Public Transit system.
