Parramore BRT
LYNX and the city of Orlando received a $10 million TIGER II grant to construct a 2.1 mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system west of I-4 to serve the Parramore area and the Creative Village development. LYNX and city staff completed a Memorandum of Understanding signed by LYNX, the city of Orlando and the United States Department of Transportation which lays out the parameters for the project including preliminary budgets, funding sources, alignment and preliminary schedule.
The BRT service area extends west of I-4 to Terry Avenue and south from Amelia Street to Central Boulevard. Next steps include submitting the grant application to secure the funds and solicitation for design build services to complete the project. If all goes well the project will be operating in the summer of 2013
